Penthouse at Ultra-Contemporary 450 Hayes Asks $1.8 Million

Ground zero in one of the city's most popular neighborhoods

The sleek new 450 Hayes mammoth (i.e., the new complex next to former Flippers Burgers), which has drastically and dramatically changed the landscape of Hayes Valley's main drag, is open for business. And one of its penthouses is up for grabs.

Before we get to the penthouse, let's discuss the building itself.  Designed by Handel Architects, the structure features plenty of wood, stone, and brass.

Each unit also comes with a "virtual doorman" (billed as "a smartphone-enabled remote doorman service, among the first of its kind offered in San Francisco"), a Marta Fry Landscape Associates-designed courtyard, rooftop lounge up top, and retail shops on the ground level.

The new addition to Hayes Valley also has a penthouse on the market—one of eight, to be exact (alas, the term "penthouse" has a looser definition these days)—which comes with two bedrooms, two baths, 1,135 square feet. HOAs are $847/month and asking is $1,800,000.
