New Developments: The Class of 2020

The Harland, Los Angeles

The Harland West Hollywood, which is estimated to open in the first quarter of 2020, will offer 37 residences with private outdoor terraces and patios. The design studios of OfficeUntitled and Marmol Radziner—which also did the interiors—are behind the project, with the developer DM Development and Faring. The Harland West Hollywood boasts an updated Mid-Century Modern style conducive to the indoor-outdoor lifestyle in Southern California. There are almost 10,000 square feet of amenities, with a landscaped courtyard at the center of it all. Residents and visitors will have access to a leather-paneled bowling alley, a private room and exhibition kitchen, entertainment lounges and a private screening room, a fitness center and yoga studio and a lobby and parking area with 24-hour staff. The project includes residences, townhomes, and penthouses ranging from 1,503 square feet to 3,135 square feet, and they start at $2.1 million.

Union House, San Francisco

Boutique hotels in Europe were the inspiration for Union House, which was designed by Handel Architects, a firm with offices in New York City, Boston, San Francisco and Hong Kong. The seven-story development has plans for 41 homes, with five penthouses with private roof terraces. Behind its stone-and-bronze facade, residences boast high ceilings and oversized windows framing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay and Russian Hill. Building amenities include a formal lobby, a parlor with a marble fireplace and plaster artwork custom designed by Atelier Premiere of Paris, and the rooftop Sky Lounge. The project is expected to be completed in early 2020, with pricing starting at $1.3 million.
